Who manages the Moodle Discussion?

You do. I will ask different students to lead the discussion. This does not mean you have to "know the most" about the topic, only that you are present to move the conversation along.

 

What does it mean to be a Moodle conversation leader?

It means it is up to you to keep the conversation moving. There are many ways to do this. Here are a few roles you can play:

• Strategic responder: You respond to what you feel is a strategic question or comment posted by one of your colleagues, which you feel deserves more exploration.

• Summarizer: You summarize the main points you are reading, and then ask your colleagues to build on your summary points.

• Redirecter: If you don't feel the conversation is on topic, you can redirect it by asking a question that helps refocus the conversation.

• Questioner: When you are in charge of the conversation, feel free to keep asking all the question you like. After all, innovation is driven by questions.
